This Christmas was not as eventful as i might of liked due to the total fail on behalf of my heart, but i did get some fantastic gifts that i can use and keep for the rest of my life!
I received Tate Membership that was cleverly housed in this Jim Lambie box, previously exhibited in Tate Liverpool. Turned inside-out it also turns into the black and white version of his work.
The entire 2nd floor of Tate Liverpool was made into 'Zobop' a space covered with vinyl tape consisting of intensely colourful geometric lines as part of the exhibition entitled
'Colour Chart: Reinventing Colour, 1950 - Today'.
I remember the exhibition being so unforgivingly boring, especially due to the nature of it being colour i expected something a lot more bold, brash and overwhelming.(do not let this image fool you!)
My upcoming second term project is called "Stretch & Extrude", playing with shapes through jersey. Since my first term was strictly white, i feel the need to explode with colour. Anyone who knows me will know how much i hate colour or pattern, unless the garment is magnificent! I have decided to completely ignore my instinct and explore colour in weird and wonderful ways.
In a way, this box is my starting point. What a perfect christmas present!
